The Alameda Island Flotilla includes sailors, power boaters, and other people interested in supporting the missions of the Coast Guard via a variety of activities. Above, you see our operational facilties on the Bay.

Our members get involved in many different missions, depending on personal interests, skills, and time available. We teach classes about sailing, navigation, boating safely, GPS, and for members, various specialty courses such as Weather. We learn special skills such as accident investigation reporting, ferry inspection, and marine environmental observation. We check private aids to navigation, hold recreational events for active duty, participate in boat shows, do search and rescue training, conduct safety patrols, and socialize.

Click the Join Our Flotilla link if this sounds like worthwhile fun to you.

News flash: Flotillas 12-2 and 12-21, both based at Coast Guard Island, merged as of January 1, 2010. New Flotilla 12-1, the result of this combination of people and energy, has the goal of increasing support to our members and the United States Coast Guard. Our monthly meeting time will remain the same (7 pm, 2nd Tuesday of the month), in Classroom 35, Building 16, which is the gym and morale building. A link will be provided to a Web site for 12-1 as soon as it gets developed. We look forward to seeing you in 2010. Semper Paratus.
